.“All is Fair in Love and the County Fair” is an ongoing series of works illustrating my take on the Appalachian tradition of barn quilts. I started the series in 2021 with submissions into my local county fairs Barn Quilt category, and much to my surprise, I won ribbons! With that in mind I summit pieces every year in hopes of getting at least one ribbon. The quote “All is fair in love and war” always comes to mind for the county fair is such a historically rich place full of family fun and intense competition. These are my winners, my failures and just for giggles.
